Three Stroke Ruff Played in Triplet Form
Applied to Jazz

The previous THREE STROKE RUFF fills played in 3/4 time will now be superimposed over two bars of 4/4 time in the following example. This method of phrasing is commonly used in Jazz, and is referred to as an "Over-the-Bar-Line Feel."

Note: All tied eighth notes should be played with a slight splash on the ride cymbal and reinforced with the bass drum.
